a rollicking good time

Sean and I attended our third Renaissance Festival in Fairburn, Georgia, a couple of weekends ago. We were joined by my mom, as well as our friends Brandon and Richie. The day was filled with fun and feasting! First, we witnessed some jaw dropping stunts in the BARELY BALANCED ACROBATS comedy show. Then, we were off to peruse the countless merchant shops, which sold everything from fairy wings to steel swords. The guys tried their hand at archery, with Richie demonstrating he had the skills to pay the bills! After the Village Parade, we watched the Royal Joust at the Joust Arena. For me, the joust is always a highlight of the festival. You've got the King and Queen and their court, knights, horses, drums and fanfare trumpets... it's all quite impressive! Another highlight is the fabulous food. Our lunch consisted of such yummy treats as steak on a stick, gyros and butterfly fries. The afternoon was filled with more shopping and shows, capped off with a Joust to the Death!
