As if my DVR wasn't already in overdrive (UGLY BETTY, LOST, HEROES, all 3 CSI's, HOUSE, DWTS, and PROJECT RUNWAY just to name a few... LOL), I am totally smitten with ABC's new series PUSHING DAISIES!! The show is such a breath of fresh air... a unique and enchanting "forensic fairy tale filled with love, mystery, and a touch of magic"! The characters are endearing, the writing is super witty, and the sets are extraordinarily whimsical.
I was hooked after the second episode "Dummy", in which Olive Snook (Kristen Chenoweth... yay!) breaks out into a fabulous rendition of HOPELESSLY DEVOTED in the company of Ned's lovable pooch, Digby. The scene was utter brilliance!
Then there was the delightful sing along in episode 4 "Pigeon", featuring the They Might Be Giants classic BIRDHOUSE IN YOUR SOUL. This show makes me laugh out loud and fills my heart with gladness.
